Portrait of Winifred Drummond

Winifred Drummond was born on 10th May 1912 in North London, one of a generation of women who grew up in the shadow of one world war and lived through another. Warm, resilient, and with a smile that could light up any room, Winnie — as she was known to those who loved her — embraced life with quiet grace and boundless generosity.

“The heart of that home — the person everyone turned to.”

In the summer of 1934 she married Fredrik Drummond, her devoted companion of over forty years. Together they made their home in Edmonton, raising their family amidst the close-knit community they both cherished. Winifred was the heart of that home — the person everyone turned to, the maker of endless cups of tea, the keeper of the family's stories.

She is remembered with deep love by her children and grandchildren, and by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
